Giving for Good
an event powered by the Big Society Network with the

17 February 2011, Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, London
All day event with evening drinks reception
#bsngiving
Our Government's great ambition is to build a stronger more resilient society where people have more control over their lives and local communities have the motivation and capability to take decisions which impact on them on a daily basis.
This 'Big Society' requires us to develop a generous culture of giving and mutual support.
The Big Society Network exists to convene people from across society to think about, support and generate new ideas to help enable people pursue their individual and collective aspirations
Give it Up! will provide a unique opportunity to bring together established thought leaders in this field along with people with new ideas and technology know-how. In the morning we will hear from those who have researched philanthropic behaviour, social action both here and globally, those who have innovative ideas on how we can harness the power of new technologies, those who have a vision for the future. We will draw from behavioural science, social psychology, public policy, charities, best business practice, social entrepreneurs and experts in this field, to look at how we can all do more
The event is designed to be a mix of formal and interactive sessions. Our ambition is that the event will be a showcase for fresh thinking, and a forum for new connections and ideas.
Chaired by Martin Brookes, Chief Executive of New Philanthropy Capital, Contributors include:
Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society
Michael Green, Author, Philanthrocapitalism
Molly Bedingfield Founder and CEO Global Angels

Henry Hemming, Writer and Author of 'Together: How Small Groups Can Achieve Big Things'
